New hospital building dedicated to the late Queen

ºÚÁÏÍø has been granted permission to name the building that will be housing its new Imber Ward, the Elizabeth Building, in honour of the late Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II. In a poll of staff the names Eilzabeth and Imber came out on top.

Junior Doctors Industrial Action 24 - 28 February

Industrial action by Junior Doctors is planned from 7am on Saturday 24th February to midnight on Wednesday 28th February. ºÚÁÏÍø District Hospital will be very busy, but will continue to focus on providing safe patient care. Our teams will continue to ensure patient safety and maintain critical services. During this period please consider alternatives such as your GP, local pharmacy, and out of hours, the ºÚÁÏÍø Walk-in Centre. If you are unsure about whether you should go to hospital you can visit NHS 111 online or by telephone. Patients should only call 999 or attend A&E if it is an urgent or life-threatening health emergency.

Sir Christopher Benson

Long-time Stars Appeal benefactor Sir Christopher Benson has passed away. Sir Christopher and his late wife Lady Benson (pictured above) were very generous and highly-committed supporters of the charity. In 2013, their donation enabled the creation of the Benson Suite at our hospital, which provides a 'place of peace' for local families who tragically lose a baby at birth.
